Well it's been awhile since I've posted any art. This is an entry for NGoff's contest to reimage Marvel's Rogue. I had to enter this contest. So onto my design/re-design. I thought I would give her multiple streaks in her hair vis-a-vis the one streak. For her outfit I added a twist that the black areas allow contact with her victims thus allowing her to transfer their personalities. I don't have a technical explaination for this but then again it's fiction I used crayon's from Denny's and highlighters to color this. I think I'm going to experiment with heat and pressure using crayons someday... Annnndddd in keeping with my corny, out-dated self I used an AC/DC song title to title this deviation.
Jeez...I forgot to comment on the actual redesign...
Great energy in it as well as the pose (as mentioned before)! Having them solid black really makes them 'op'. Remember to try and curve them more to the shape of the body which will enhance perspective and form. I love the asymmetry of the placement of those strips!

Thanks again, and I thought I would use this opportunity to discuss the picture it's self. For the last 5 months or so I've been living out of a motel in San Diego. So I really don't have comfortable place to do my art right now.(this is going to change soon) So I did the pencils in about an hour at a cafe at Balboa Park. It's funny while I was drawing this a little girl was walking by with her mom and she started to stop and ask me about it when were mom told her not to bother me while I was working! I chuckled. So I did it on 50lb? canson sketch paper. The inking was a first for me in that I used a G nib. This is used by Manga artists. I love the control and the clean lines it produced. Future works will definately better with the G nib. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
New deals posted everyday, starting Black Friday and running through the holiday season! No hassles, no lines - just awesome savings on art, deviantWEAR, Premium Memberships and more!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

It's better than nothing! Sometimes simplicity lends itself more than complexity.
